Microsoft Office 2010 - Tip 2 - Editing ('The Spike')
12/12/2012
The Spike is a feature in Microsoft Word that lets you select and spike multiple snips of text, combine them together, and paste to another location or document.
- Ctrl + F3 to Cut (this is not a copy) and place each selected text into the Spike.
- Ctrl + Shift + F3 to paste the collected text.
This feature is available in WordPerfect also (although without the clever name).
- After the first select and copy or cut - use Edit > Append to add each new selection to the clipboard.
- Use paste (Edit > Paste or Ctrl + v) to place the collected text where you want it.
